We ordered the Keyfit 22 car seat instead of the Keyfit 30 because it was the lightest option available by several pounds, and we hoped that would make it easier for us to carry. Our baby was 6 lbs. 3 oz. on arrival and carrying her in this car seat has been a breeze. The Keyfit 30 can only be used up to 30 inches in height anyways, and I expect our child will exceed that measurement prior to exceeding the 22 lbs.

<br/>I really liked the base installation process with the LATCH system. It was slick. Just attach the two seat belt buckle-like clips to the car's two connectors under the seat. Then pull on the strap while kneeling on the base to make sure it is tight. Finally use the built-in levels to make sure it is right. After about 10 minutes of yanking and wiggling, I definitely felt that it was installed correctly.

<br/>We ordered a second base so that we have one in both of our cars and that has already come in handy. Well worth the investment to have the flexibility of taking either car.

<br/>It is easy to get the car seat in and out of the car, with just the single orange latch on the back that you lift to release, and then pull up the car seat to take it out. To put it in the base, you just gently drop it in place, and it clicks loudly, which inspires confidence that it is really in there.

<br/>I would recommend this car seat to anyone with a small baby. It has definitely met, and in some areas exceeded, our expectations.
