Okay, after lots of research I bought this one for safety and cuteness factor (cowmooflage)....Daughter was born average size 19inches, 7lbs 13 oz....but, she was already too big for the infant insert.
<br/>She is now almost a year old and in the 10%ile for weight...so still a tiny skinny girl. But she fills the car seat out, no space for warmer jacket or anything...I have no clue how this seat should work for an average baby with the usual chubby legs etc.
<br/>As other reviewers noted, it is almost impossible to move the chest clip and you always have to dig under your baby to get the straps and the crotch clips out. Always thought it was just her that does not like to be in the car and therefore crying, well, on a trip to Europe she was in a different car seat and guess what...no crying!!
<br/>We sucked it up because for short trips it was usually okay, but I'll switch the car seat now as we have to do a five hour car trip.
<br/>Don't recommend this seat either.
